- About
Monique Feyrecilde (she/her), BA, LVT, VTS (Behavior), Elite FFCP (Veterinary), founded her private consulting business Teaching Animals in 1999 with a simple but powerful idea: every training interaction is a reciprocal process in which both human and non-human animals are teaching and learning together. Over more than two decades, she has supported her community through clinical veterinary leadership, behavior consulting, mentoring, curriculum development, textbook authorship, and continuing education in the veterinary medicine and companion animal fields, with a focus on applied behavior science and welfare-centered care.
Dyllan Freeburg (she/they), BS, KPA CTP, CSAP-BC, FFCP, first met Monique in 2023 and quickly recognized shared values and vision for the future of human-animal welfare. Dyllan's approach to behavior work is relational and systems-based, grounded in behavior change science, collaborative care with other professionals, and structured coaching frameworks designed to support sustainable, real-world change for multi-species families.
In 2026, Monique and Dyllan linked arms to create Teaching Animals Academy, a modern school for pets and their people. Together with a growing team of teachers and learners, they are building a supportive learning community rooted in humane training methods and educational excellence, where instructors and students of all species are supported to thrive.
